The Granular Convolver is a new musical device created for participants of RBMA Berlin 2018, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the global music institution. Created by former Korg engineer Tatsuya Takahashi, DSP engineer Christoph Hohnerlein and hardware manufacturer Maximilian Rest, the Granular Convolver is a unique approach to thinking about and designing future musical instruments.

We explained the inner workings of the Granular Convolver and documented the manufacturing process and ideation of a clever, unconventional musical device.
